Growing up in Harvard, Massachusetts, the artist began drawing and painting as a young child. "There wasn't much to do that didn't involve being outdoors...we were outside every day in all seasons". The local flora and fauna proved inspirational and began a lifetime of enchantment with the beauty in nature.
She attended college in the Berkshire Mountains in Western Massachusetts where she majored in art, and later attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) before returning to her New England roots.
With a background in graphite, pen & ink, and water color illustration, she now paints in oil almost exclusively.
Her paintings encompass landscapes and seascapes from New England to the Blue Ridge Mountains and Carolina coast. She has lived in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains for the past twenty years surrounded by spectacular subject matter for her paintings.
